Our first "thump"

Ok...this keyboard is different than ours, so pardon qny weird symbols/words. Obviously we made it to Paris. We have walked ALL over this city. We have decided that this is great training for our pilgrimage.

So what have we seen you ask? Notre Dame (part of it... they evacuated the cathedral because of something that involved a bomb squad and TONS of police) we are going back today to see the inside for longer than two minutes. The Louvre was buzzing with lots of people, but we managed to see all that we wanted (Rick Steve/s audio tour is amazing!) Eiffel Tower was incredible! We went all the way to the top. We spent Wednesday evening in Montmartre (crepes, wine, Moulin Rouge and the cafe where Amelie was filmed.)

So on to today... We have officially hit our first bump in the road. We will now be staying in Paris for another day and night. Unfortunately our Eurorail pass is not good for quick reservations. Therefore, we will be leaving Paris Saturday night and qrrive in St. Jean Sunday afternoon. This means we will start our walk two days later than expected. We get to ride on the train overnight: We even have a couchette. (bed sort of) We will tqke pictures. (Monday instead of Saturdqy) Mary, you would have been proud of Toni talking to the nice gentleman at the trqin station. She did it all in French! I used the only French word you have taught me (remember Sunday school ... the word starts with M qnd it is not Madeline) Long story short... we had to change plans qnd have found q hotel for tomorrow night.

We are having a great time despite the major change in plans. Now we have ,ore ti,e in Paris. Toni has been dragging me at quite a fast pace. Now we can wqlk and not run!

Wish we could post pictures; but as you can tell fro, the typing, we arenĂ¹t good at using this computer! it is a chore to just type. this has tqken 30 minutes. Having a great time, wish you could all be here!

Did we mention the riot? not really a riot... Portugal won their soccer game yesterday and the Portugese were celebrating loudly in the streets! Police were involved and people were going crqwy celebrating. IT was quite entertaining. Mom... dont worry it waqnt really a riot.

Until next time...

Au revoir

Did you meet handsome men like in Amelie or see any gnomes? The Celtics beat the Lakers in a huge comeback. Tim Russert died of a heart attack today.

Miss you and glad you are having a good time.
